Reflexology massage reduces Stress
Stress becomes a problem when we fail to manage it. It results from problems, frustrations, overwork and worry. When we don’t handle it well, the body’s defences break down and we become more susceptible to illness and disease.
Over seventy-five percent of all illness is stress related. My personal belief is that Reflexology can be a faithful source of strength and well-being. Reflexology is really good when your suffering with stress, calming the mind, body and soul.
It is a preventative measure to maintain a well-balanced body that can ward off illness and fatigue. It maintains an optimal state of health and well-being, whatever you do, you do with more enthusiasm, joy and energy.
How it affects the body
The nerve function has a massive effect when under stress, by having reflexology it stimulates more than 7,000 nerves. The stress response is a signal that our body and all our major organs activate, either to fight off the threatening condition or to flee from it. The classic fight-flight reaction is not just in our heads, it reverberates throughout our entire body.
Adrenal is released and the heart rate quickens, breathing becomes shallower and blood vessels on the skin surface contract. With stress, your blood pressure rises, digestion and intestinal processes can shut down. It affects your muscles making them tense up and the stomach tightens.
Over a period of time, adrenal stimulation with no discharge of energy will deplete essential vitamins and minerals from the body. It is very important to the functioning of the immune system, for example vitamin’s B and C.
What my clients say
Many of my clients fall asleep during a reflexology session, they tell me on waking that although they’ve only been asleep for about forty five minutes, the sleep was more beneficial and restorative than a full night of restless sleep. Reflexology helps you to feel good, well balanced and more healthy.
