Reflexology is a method for activating the healing powers of the body. The early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet to promote good health.
It works on the principles that there are reflexes in the Feet that correspond to all Major Organs, Glands and body parts. It is a unique method of using the Fingers and Thumbs on these reflex areas.
How does Reflexology work?
The feet are a mirror image of the body, each foot represents half of the body containing 10 zones, 5 in each foot. By stimulating these zones, affects the entire body bringing harmony for many ailments.
What is involved in the treatment?
With the comfort of a therapy bed with a nice cosy blanket, let your mind relax. listen to relaxing music, while breathing in some lovely essential oils.
I start off with a nice foot massage and loosening techniques which is very relaxing. Pressure is applied using thumbs and fingers on the foot to revitalise and balance the energy zones.
This improves the functions of all the organs and glands to work in harmony with each other. With my trained sensitive hands, I can detect any blockages within the body. This helps me to iron out any problem areas, bringing harmony and balance.
This leaves you deeply relaxed, most fall asleep. After your treatment, your feet feel amazing and you leave feeling deeply relaxed. You are encouraged to drink plenty of water on the day of treatment, and 2 days afterwards to eliminate toxins from your body.

Reflexology works on the Nervous system
The Nervous system is comprised of the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system, including the autonomic nervous system and the solar plexus.
The function of the nervous system is to relay communication, from the brain to all parts of the body. It also brings communication from all parts of the body to the brain. The solar plexus helps to calm and relax the entire nervous system.
The spinal cord has reflexes along the spine area of the foot, these nerves radiate out to all organs and glands.
The Brain controls vital lift functions
Reflexology works on the Muscular system
The muscular system includes all the muscles of the body. Muscle contract and relax to provide motion, maintain postural stability in the body.
Muscles perform vital functions such as, the heart, diaphragm and intestinal walls. As I work on the foot, I am contracting and strengthening every muscle in the body.
Reflexology works on the Skeletal system.
The skeletal system comprises all the bones in the body. Its function is to give structure and support. To protect internal organs, along with muscles to allow movement of the body.
It is also responsible for producing red blood cells for the circulatory system, also storing minerals. By working on pressure points, both the muscles and bones will be strengthened simultaneously.
Reflexology works on the Circulatory system.
The Circulatory system contains the heart, blood vessels and the blood. It provides the cells with all they need for health and vitality.
It carries oxygen, vitamins, minerals, hormones and antibodies to where they are needed. If, because of stress, the cells are deprived of nutrients, oxygen and the cleansing of waste products. This is when you have the first step toward disease.
By working on foot, it improves circulation to all parts of the bod and frees any obstruction.
Reflexology works on the Lymphatic system
The function of the Lymphatic system is to protect the body from infection and disease, and create immunity. It strengthens the immune system and helps the body to recover from colds and infections.
Reflexology works on the Endocrine system.
The Endocrine system is comprised of ductless glands that secrete hormones into the blood. They regulate the body's functioning, the rhythms of life and emotions. These reflexes affect our mood, energy, and the proper functioning of all our other systems.
Reflexology works on the Respiratory system
The purpose of the respiratory system is to bring oxygen into the blood and release carbon dioxide. It also releases unwanted gases back into the air.
Every cell in the body is dependent on oxygen for its metabolism. Oxygen brought to the cell by the respiratory system, and food brought to the cell by the digestion system, combine to produce energy.
Reflexology works on the Digestive system
The function of the Digestive system is to convert the food we eat into protein building blocks of our body. Nutrients are needed by every cell for the energy required to maintain life.
Sometimes our digestive system becomes sluggish, this makes it difficult to eliminate toxic waste. This causes tiredness, lack of vitality and strength. By working on the entire digestive system, the pancreas, the liver and the gallbladder it restores balance to the body.
Reflexology works on the Urinary system.
The function of the Urinary system is to get rid of urea, a nitrogen waste product. Blood is brought to the kidney, where it is filtered to release the urea, other wastes and substances the are in excess in the blood.
The ureters carry the urine to the bladder for storages, it is then released through the urethra. In order to maintain the efficient functioning of the urinary system, working on these pressure points restores balance. This helps to detoxify the body and to prevent any blockages or inflammation.
Reflexology works on the Reproductive system
This system can create new life. In women, it maintains and nourishes this new life until birth and after birth. This is a process of "generation" and by working on the reflex points for the reproductive organs, promotes vitality and energy. It also strengthens the organs themselves to help create and sustain new life.
