Thai Foot massage is a unique and very powerful therapy, its an ancient form of therapeutic healing. Its roots are in India from where it was brought to Thailand over 2000 years ago. It combines acupressure, energy balancing and stretching. Pressure points are used, as well as energy lines and basic body forces which together. This produces a highly therapeutic effect.
How does it work?
It works by using thumbs, knuckles and a wooden acupressure tool. Massage is applied to the lower legs and feet using rubbing, kneading, stretching and vibration techniques. There are 10 energy lines in the body, by working on these reflex/pressure points which correspond to all organs, glands and body parts through which life energy flows. It is believed that blockages within the flow will result in pain, illness or disease. By working along these lines with pressure, and by stretching the lines, blocked energy can be released. – much like Acupuncture and Shiatsu.
